Wheelchair Basketball anyone?! As part of the process, you’ll engage in the ‘Forest & Back Activity’, this enables you to bond with your team, challenge yourself and create team memories from the off. Recent trips included an overnight stay in the Brecon Beacons which included gorge walking!

CLIENT PROJECTS The best thing about the SBE programme is engaging with Real Projects! Our client Project activities give students the opportunities to engage with real businesses, who set real life challenges/projects. From Marketing campaigns for Yeo Valley, developing podcasts for This Mum Runs to planning and staging game day activities for Bristol Flyers and Bristol Bears Community Foundation. “We did many marketing projects at Ashton Gate which were always really engaging, a memorable one partnering with Yeo Valley to increase their match day presence at Women’s BCFC matches.” “Overall, the Sports Business and Entrepreneurship course at UWE Bristol equipped me with the tools and knowledge to start and manage my business, Hedgy Socks and obtain a desirable graduate job, positioning myself for long-term success.”

THE LEARNING JOURNEY The Learning Journey allows our Team Entrepreneurs (students) from other hubs that study under the same type of program to connect. These trips can be UK based’ like Aston Uni in Birmingham, or European based like Prague or Barcelona! “You cannot prepare for what it is like after leaving university, but I can honestly say the course has seriously helped in the best way it could have”.

CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS One of the ways to learn, is by talking to or meeting other people. Throughout the academic year we engage with a range of business owners external to, and within the Bristol Sport Group. Discussing Social Media strategies with Ryan Morgan (BCFC Social Media Manager), and Marketing Tactics with Dave Barton (BCFC Head of Communications) were a highlight! “The course was a great catalyst for my creativity. It encouraged me to convert my ideas into tangible businesses whilst utilising a plethora of connections within the UWE and Ashton Gate networks.
